Ollie Pitt is a British photographer exploring the connections between people, place and memory.

His works spans the misty highlands of Southeast Asia, where he has spent years returning to rural communities in Laos and Vietnam, documenting the lives, traditions and landscapes that shape them. Through portraits and scenes of everyday life, he seeks to capture something of the people he meets and the places they call home. His approach is rooted in observation and familiarity, allowing relationships to develop over time and his photographs to grow from experiences shared rather than moments simply encountered.

Alongside his work, Ollie explores the streets and neighbourhoods of South Korea, drawn to the fleeting scenes and familiar places that take on new meaning with the passage of time. His photography moves between the intimate and the everyday, from the faces of people living in remote mountain villages, to the overlooked details of urban life. Across these different settings, he is interested in how places become part of our memories, how ordinary moments come to matter, and how photography can preserve something of a world that continues to change.

β€œHis work combines color harmony, clever timing, and layered composition, revealing drama and beauty in everyday people moments.”

CHILDREN OF LAOS

Photography Can Also Give Something Back

My photography has taken me to rural communities in Laos, where returning to the same villages over the years has allowed me to build relationships with the people I photograph. These connections have gradually grown into something beyond the camera. Through Children of Laos, I began raising funds to help support a rural village school, providing books, pencils and other essential supplies for the children. What began as a small way of giving something back has become an important part of my time in Laos, reminding me that photography can be more than a way of seeing and sharing the world. It can also create opportunities to make a practical difference in the places and lives that have become meaningful to us.
